European Democracy Endangered – Focus on Hungary and Poland

14. Oktober 2021 von 19:00 bis 20:30

European democracy is in danger. Fundamentally, in some cases, gradually, in others. In countries outside, but also within the European Union. We want people who work for democracy and civic engagement in their countries every day to have their say. They will give first-hand accounts of their struggles, but also of the oppportunities that civil society engagement offers in many European countries. In recent years, there have been rising concerns in both Poland and Hungary when it comes to rule of law, freedom of media and LGBTQ-rights.

We will speak with:

Balázs Brandt, President of JEF (Young European Federalists) Hungary

Klementyna Suchanow, Author, Activist All-Poland Women´s Strike

Susanne Wixforth, Head of Unit in the International and European Union Policy Department of German Union Confederation (DGB)
